I'm looking forward to photos to accompany your narrative. Would love to see the gardens and interior of churches. Just got done watching the mini series Pillars of the Earth which takes place in England and France in the 1200s about a master builder stone mason and his quest to build a cathedral. I read the book a few years ago, by Ken Follet. A wonderful story of the pure desire to honor God and all the political power plays and jealousy to try and stop it. Your stories of old architecture reminds me of it.

Now, let's see if I have this right. If pounds gained in Europe are special, does that mean when you come back and diet to lose the pounds gained, that the "special" pounds go also? Seems pretty temporary to me for such a wonderful trip. Maybe you can figure out how to keep the "special Euro pounds" but lose instead USA pounds. Sounds pretty involved to me. YLD

Okay, I am laughing out loud! This is like something you'd hear in a comedy club. I am a wine lover too, and have never understood the descriptions either, to my eternal secret shame :-)

Things like "It had the smell of lead pencil shavings" Huh? That's classic. The writer definitely had one too many sips of the product when coming up with that one.
